For us, aspiration goes beyond dreaming big, it also involves the development of knowledge, skills and crucially the self-confidence to achieve these dreams. We use the analogy of climbing a mountain to demonstrate the steps to success.
Our Careers and Inspiration programmes see us partner with a huge range of employers, from engineers and accountants to international artists and professional sports personnel, to create individualised pathways for future careers.

Belonging
Being a smaller school means we can offer a friendly and personalised experience for all our students. Feeling part of the Pool Academy family is very important to us and this team ethos extends from the morning Meet and Greet, where we celebrate togetherness, to throughout the school day.
The views and experiences of our students, parents and carers are central to our drive to continually develop our work and there are many opportunities for us to work together.
Our school life is enhanced by strong external partnerships and modern facilities leading to a wealth of opportunities for students, both inside and outside of the classroom.
The addition of a first-rate fitness centre enhances our fantastic sporting facilities and we are proud to have county and national level competitors in a huge range of areas including rugby, surfing, swimming, golf and martial arts.
Through our growing partnerships, we are developing sporting and performance academies to allow our students to regularly learn alongside sporting and industry professionals, raising aspirations and achievements.
Respect
Students take responsibility for supporting each other, working brilliantly across all year groups.
Our students benefit from a huge number of leadership opportunities including completing our; Citizenship Awards, Combined Cadet Force and the Duke of Edinburgh programme. These, along with the great work by our student leadership team and prefects, ensure students are empowered to really make a difference.
Peer support activities, raising money for charities and contributing to our wider community are just a few examples of our students’ tireless work.
Our school community is incredibly rich with a huge range of talents, interests, skills and abilities. Throughout their time at Pool Academy, students work hard and express themselves creatively.
The school’s own art gallery provides our students a fantastic opportunity to work with internationally renowned artists and school productions, musical concerts and talent shows give students regular opportunities to shine.
