Ukraine Appeal
Students from Pool Academy raised nearly £700 to help the humanitarian aid effort in Ukraine. Students and staff held a non-uniform day - with a blue and yellow theme - and ran all kinds of activities to raise money for the British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.Poppy Appeal
Each year, the Pool Academy community raises money for the Poppy Appeal.
Previously, to mark Remembrance Day, the school held a two-minute silence and a film was shown with images and facts about remembrance. A service was held at Trevenson Church, organised by the Combined Cadet Force and a hand-stitched blanket was displayed in the school’s main entrance along with silhouette soldiers. Students also made poppies out of plastic bottles which were proudly displayed in the main car park.
Food Bank
Students, staff and the local community regularly support the Camborne, Pool, Redruth Food Bank by collecting donations. Posters are displayed around the school to encourage everyone to get involved. Students are particularly keen to support the Food Bank at Christmas and took part in the 'Twelve Items of Christmas Foodbank Challenge'.
